I have read the MiKTeX Contributing Guidelines I am using MiKTeX 2.9 with TeXstudio on Windows 10 and compiling with PdfLaTeX. exe-binary which I cannot use under Linux. Sign in Either automatically, or manually: I added that package 'miktex-findtexmf' with the package manager, but it just installs a windows. findtexmf was not included in the miktex tools package. If you have just installed MiKTeX, then you have the option to upgrade your installation to a standard TeX system. launchctl getenv PATH also returns /usr/local/bin as first component. MiKTeX for Mac is distributed as a disk image (.dmg) file.
